
Simple Pork Pie

Ingredients
- 450g ground pork
- 1 onion diced
- 2 cloves of garlic minced
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables e.g., peas, carrots
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup butter melted
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 pie crust homemade or store-bought
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine pork, onion, garlic, vegetables, flour, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well.
- Roll out the pie crust and place in a 9-inch pie dish.
- Fill the pie crust with the pork mixture.
- Brush the edges with melted butter.
- Roll out the remaining pie crust and use to cover the pie. Crimp edges to seal.
- Cut a few slits in the top crust for ventilation.
- Brush the top crust with the beaten egg for a golden glaze.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is cooked through.

(Note: You can also use a pre-made pie crust or a puff pastry crust for a flakier texture.)
