SAA and Emirates expand long-running codeshare partnership
JOHANNESBURG — South African Airways (SAA) and Emirates announced on 5 August that they will expand their long-running codeshare agreement. Under the new deal, Emirates will place its code on nine additional SAA routes, including domestic flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, and key African regional routes (Kinshasa, Windhoek, Lusaka, Harare, Victoria Falls, and Gaborone). Both airlines said this reciprocal arrangement, subject to regulatory approval, will offer seamless travel options for customers and strengthen Johannesburg’s hub connectivity.
