- Experience Journals — monthly features on events and experiences happening in and around our coverage areas
- Weekly News
- Catalogue
- Recipes
- Monthly Books
- Sport Highlights
- Movies to Stream
- Cinema Trailers
- Gaming
We generate revenue through the following channels:
- Paid banner advertising — businesses and event organisers may pay us to display banners and promotional placements on the Website
- Affiliate links — some links on the Website are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase or complete a transaction with a third party
- Sponsored content — where applicable, we may publish content sponsored by a third party, which will be identified as such
We do not sell goods, services, or tickets through the Website. We do not process payments from readers on the Website, and we do not collect payments for ticket sales or event admissions. Readers who wish to attend an event, purchase a product, or subscribe to a streaming service must do so directly with the relevant organiser, retailer, or provider.
Payments from our advertising clients are collected by invoice, which may include a third-party payment link. We do not operate a checkout or payment gateway on the Website.
Event details, prices, dates, venues, and availability are controlled by the event organisers or third-party providers and may change without notice. We publish this information in good faith but cannot guarantee its accuracy or availability.
4. Affiliate Links and Advertising Disclosure
In the interest of transparency, we disclose the following:
- Some links on the Website are affiliate links. If you click on an affiliate link and subsequently make a purchase or complete a transaction with a third party, we may receive a commission or referral fee. This comes at no additional cost to you.
- We display paid banner advertisements and sponsored placements. The presence of an advertisement does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation by us.
- Where content is sponsored or paid for by a third party, we will identify it as sponsored or advertorial.
Our editorial content is produced independently. Commercial relationships do not determine the editorial content we publish, although they may influence which products, services, or events we are able to feature.
We are not a party to any transaction you enter into with a third party, whether through an affiliate link or otherwise. Any dispute, refund, delivery, or warranty matter arising from such a transaction must be resolved directly with that third party.
5. Pricing and Payment
All prices for our advertising and promotional services are displayed on the Website and/or in written quotations and invoices. Prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.
Payment for advertising services is due as stated on the invoice. We may include a payment link in invoices for your convenience. All payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers. We do not store or process card details on the Website.
Prices for goods, services, events, or subscriptions offered by third parties are set and controlled by those third parties, not by us.
6. Client Responsibilities
If you submit a banner advertisement, promotional placement, or sponsored content to the Website, you agree that:
- All information and creative material you provide is accurate, current, and lawful
- Your advertisement or content does not contain false, misleading, illegal, or offensive material
- Your advertisement or content complies with all applicable South African laws and regulations, including advertising standards and consumer protection legislation
- You have the authority and all necessary rights to advertise the business, product, service, or event described
- You hold any required licences or permissions for the goods, services, or events you advertise
We reserve the right to edit, suspend, or remove any advertisement, listing, or content that violates these terms or that we consider, in our sole discretion, to be inappropriate, misleading, or unlawful. No refund is payable where content is removed due to a breach of this section.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Website, including text, editorial content, design, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by South African and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or use any content from the Website without our prior written permission.
By submitting an advertisement, promotional material, or sponsored content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and promote that content on the Website and in related marketing materials for the duration of the campaign.
You warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all material you submit, and you indemnify us against any claim arising from a breach of this warranty.
8. Refunds and Cancellation
Our full Refund and Cancellation Policy is available at our Refund Policy page and forms part of these Terms and Conditions. Key points:
- You may cancel an advertising or promotional order before the campaign goes live, and we will refund any amount paid, less any direct costs already incurred.
- Once a campaign has been published or has started running, refunds are provided at our discretion unless required by law.
- Where a refund is due, we will process it within 30 days of the cancellation date, in line with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA).
- Refunds are processed through the same payment method used for the original payment, or via the third-party payment provider where applicable.
- We do not process refunds for purchases, tickets, subscriptions, or services obtained from third parties, whether or not you reached them through an affiliate link on our Website. Those matters must be taken up directly with the third party.
